About K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers:

K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers, Inc. is the charity of choice for new product donations made by hundreds of companies in the fashion, home and children’s industries. Donating new merchandise provides these companies with a simple and effective way to help people in need. Founded 31 years ago, K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that unites retailers, manufacturers, foundations and individuals to support people affected by poverty and tragedy. In 2015, 405 companies donated nearly $135 million of new product that we distributed to approximately 543 community partners (unaudited figures). Since 1985, over $1.3 billion of apparel, accessories, shoes, home furnishings, toys, books and other useful items have been distributed through our network of community partners, serving the poor and disadvantaged worldwide.


Job Title: Media InternJob Purpose: The media intern works directly with the Digital Media Manager, supporting the organization’s social media channels, digital marketing and metrics analysis, with the goals of:

  • Increasing our audience reach, and
  • Converting subscribers/readers/followers into financial and product donors.


  • Posting and maintenance of social media channels: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Linkedin
  • Posting stories to the K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers website, and promoting blog posts through social media
  • Tracking our Google Analytics data to determine the best tactics to increase our audiences and improve our SEO
  • Reviewing and adjusting our Google Adwords account so that we make the best use of our Adwords grant and expand our reach to new audiences
  • Researching topics as needed to support content development about poverty and disaster relief, etc.
  • Writing articles and posts as needed
  • Working at least 15 hours/week in the office of K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers; five hours can be worked remotely if needed
  • We would like to hire this intern for the summer of 2016, as well as the fall/winter 2016


  • Proficiency in social media programs including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn
  • Ability to write well (writing samples required)
  • Works well on his/her own
  • Careful and considerate working skills
  • Ability to work independently and also as part of a team
  • Demonstrated interest in social justice issues
  • Preference is given to current undergraduate or graduate student in journalism, communications or marketing majors; written writing samples will be required.

Compensation: The internship is paid; salary depends upon skills.

K.I.D.S/Fashion Delivers Program Associate (3 days/week, temporary position)


K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers is a dynamic nonprofit helping families in need and disaster survivors.  We need temporary support to help us execute a donation program that runs mid-August 2016 through January 29, 2017. Working with an experienced professional, the Program Associate will research and coordinate community nonprofits participating in one of our product donation programs.

The job responsibilities are:

· Conduct web-based and database research to support our program, including matching approximately 575 of our retail partners’ stores to around 300 nonprofit partners in their communities.

·  With training from staff, contact local nonprofit partners to determine if they can participate again this year in the cause marketing program. Identify and register new agencies for any that drop out from the previous year (usually about 30 agencies).

· Identify opportunities for news and discussions from these partnerships to be posted on social media and used in standard media relations.

· Gather feedback from the nonprofit partners and provide any highlights to marketing staff.

·  Must be comfortable with and capable of maintaining an excel spreadsheet of contacts and communicating daily with them via phone and email.

·  The position is 8 hours a day, 3 days a week in our offices at 266 W. 37th Street, 22nd in Manhattan. Starting mid-August 2016 and running through the January 27, 2017.
